EL.BA 2.0

EL.BA 2.0 is a sculptural exploration that physically materialize the topological concept of the Borromean Rings—three interlocked loops where no two are directly linked, yet all three hold together. In EL.BA 2.0, the rings are represented by bending-active aluminium poles that do not touch each other, held in equilibrium solely by the tension of a stretched elastic membrane. The project investigates how flexible materials can form complex minimal surfaces through a delicate balance of forces, making abstract mathematical ideas accessible while creating expressive, adaptable geometries with both aesthetic and functional relevance.
